Hello, I currently have 3 years of language taken, French I,II, and III. However I took French I in 8th grade. Would this not count as a year of language. If it does, why would they basically penalize me for taking it a year earlier. In my school you need an A in French III to move onto IV. I did not achieve that. So this year I decided to double up on sciences. However next year, would it be helpful to me to take a year of Spanish or Latin I?

can anyone clarify if i have 3 years, or 2 years? should i ask my counselor or email syracuse directly?

Talk to your counselor. But schools are only looking at H.S. transcript 9th through12th…

You and me are in the same situation. I assume that since it will say French III on your transcript it will be seen as you completing three years of a foreign language. I wouldn’t worry.

I hope its the case, I visited Syracuse last weekend and absolutley loved it. I’m going to double check with my counselor to be on the safe side though.

Are you a junior? Because I am going to be a freshman at SU next year and I took Spanish I in 8th grade and took Spanish II and III in high school. So, I was accepted with the same language qualifications that you have.

oh wow, I guess that answers my question then thanks
