Are Arabic and Mandarin offered at Dartmouth?
How comprehensive are the programs?
Are students allowed to take more than two languages?

Thanks!

Arabic and Mandarin are both offered at Dartmouth, and study abroad programs are offered for both languages. I was very pleased with my Arabic experience. Students are “allowed” to take whatever they like, as long as they meet their distributive requirements and the requirements for their major. It’s up to you how you are able to fit in the courses you want to take.

Just a caution for Arabic: you must start in the fall for Arabic 1.

I apologize for bumping this thread, but I have a second question about languages at Dartmouth.

I recently looked at the Dartmouth Spanish and Portuguese Department website and noticed that students can take the SAT II in addition to the AP and normal placement tests to place in a higher level course.

I have already received a high enough SAT II score in Spanish (740) to place in Spanish 9, but my question is how do I notify the department of my score in order to ensure a spot in the section next fall?
