From what I hear, a laptop is a very important thing to have at any college. I'm stilling looking for one, but does anyone know if Cornell suggests any models of laptops? I'm a PC person, btw.

Check out the CIT site. It will tell you about the minimum requirements for laptops.

not really that important. I never use my laptop because I have a desktop and 24" monitor in my room. Desktop is sooooo much better in my opinion. If you take you laptop to class with you, you will most likely just surf the internet instead of paying attention. I find myself way more production while working on my desktop. Laptops are highly overrated considering every library has computers in them for when you are meeting up with people for a project. However, I have a single so working in my room is easy and quite, but if you have an annoying roommate a laptop would be beneficial in that case.
