Laptop for engineering?

So the time has come for me to start looking for a laptop... i've been a PC user all my life but if i was told Macs were better for engineering I'd be fine making the switch. I've heard so many mixed opinions though. I'm looking for any engineers out there who can tell me from their experience, which are better at running programs that we'll need for school? If i were to get a Mac i'd probably get the 2.9 GHz MacBook Pro for $1500: MacBook Pro - Buy MacBook Pro with Retina display - Apple Store (U.S.)/url. If i were to get a PC i'm currently looking at this deal: [url=http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/PRE-BUILD_Valkyrie_CZ-17_Gaming_Laptop]iBUYPOWER Computer :: [PRE-BUILD] Valkyrie CZ-17 Gaming Laptop. I'm not really a gamer but it looks like a great computer for the same price as the MacBook. Plus I have an iBuyPower desktop at home and I love it. Soo if theres anyone who can tell just by specs which one would fit engineering at Minnesota better, please help me out!

lol wait i didn’t realize how bulky the second one is which is probably a problem.

Not a big deal, but I’d generally recommend PC.

I’ve never heard anyone say OS X is better for engineering, quite the contrary. A lot of software you use is windows only. I’d go with something i series processor and SSD if possible.
