I want a Mac. I will be at a Mac-...unfriendly school before I go to a Mac friendly school.

Is there a certain computer that would aid this transition? And Mac people, what Mac do you recommend for a college freshman? Money is not an issue.

Thanks!

Well if you are getting a laptop and want a mac, you have two options.

Macbook Pro
and
Macbook

If money is no issue, then Macbook Pro.

That is unless you want a desktop....

You dont really have any other 'options' for macs that would aid in transition. Though boot camp will allow you to run windows, and parallels would allow you to run windows programs in OSX.

Bingo. The best 'transition computer' for going to a mac is...a Mac. This is because your Mac can run Mac and Windows.

For a college frosh I'd also say MacBook or MacBook Pro. MacBook Air is a niche product, and college frosh are not that niche.

Thank you both! Macbook Pro it is!
