laptop locks necessary?

Will I really need one here?

...i was wondering that too...
like the ones that you loop around your bed...
cant someone just cut it? lol

they're only like $10 and they save you the cost of a new laptop AND all the sensitive data in your computer (SSN, credit card #s, especially if your data is saved on personal forms) AND the trouble of replacing all the music and software on it in the future.

I just bought one. It's made of steel...I don't think it's going to get cut that easily.

I bought one from fry's for like 30 bucks.

are you seriously asking this question?

get one for a little piece of mind and added security.

lol...
my dad claims taht anyone can walk in and cut it...
-.-
i guess ill have to buy one on my own then lol

i bought mine on ebay for $9 :) i rule.

with these locks, i think you'd end up hurting yourself to cut it. besides, if it was cuttable by a pair of scissors, why would you even need it? same purpose as bike locks--if you could easily break into them and take the bike, what's the point? of course some locks are going to be faulty, etc., but 999/1000 times, it'll be fine.

get LoJack

Hire a black guy to look angry next to it.

All of my black friends are always angry when they're around me for some reason :{

Yes, someone can cut it, but if you leave it in your dorm room and lock the door, one has to break in first and also be happen to be carrying a heavy duty cable cutter.
