Laptop locks

I thought I saw this discussed somewhere in the forum but I can't seem to find the thread now. Anyway, I'd like to know what everyone would recommend in terms of the best lock to get for a laptop. I know that Kensington makes several different ones, but none of them got really high marks when I researched them. The only that sounded like it MIGHT be good enough was the Kensington 64068F Microsaver.

Any opinions, suggestions, tips on where to get them?

Thanks very much!

Kensington is pretty good. But I don’t think you really need a lock… Just make sure your son’s dorm is locked, and you’ll be good to go. I never had one and was fine without it.

Unless the U change the desk / furnitures in the room or you have other furnitures, there is nothing to latch on. I suppose you can drill a small hole at the back of the desk. I am not recommended it as during move out, if found, you may be fine and have to end up paying for that old furniture )): Try putting your laptop away while not in use and always locked the door, even just going down the hall to visit.

I think it makes more sense to buy a $100 insurance policy and forego the locks…yikes…another thing I was planning to do but haven’t.
