I was looking at a MacBook Pro 13" but I'm not sure on it yet. Was also looking at this... [url=http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/portege/R830/R835-P70]Toshiba Port

Your uses aren’t very good criteria, Since a very large majority are suitable for everything you listed. I do have one question to ask, though.

1) By watching movies, do you mean streaming?

Also what do you think is appropriate in terms of other aspects such as battery life?

I was also in your same situation 2 weeks ago, right now I am typing this response on my Macbook Pro. So I would also suggest Macbook Pro as my criteria is the same as yours.

Yes, I would prefer a battery life of 6+ hours.

Thanks for reminding me of that lol

And yes, streaming and watching DVDs

MacBook Pro advertises a battery life of 10 hours. It calculates on the screen how much is left. I just got mine last Saturday for college and am using that right now. I switched from PC to Mac, it’s actually easy. If you haven’t heard, Apple has a summer promo for college students getting a Mac. get the 13 inch- I have that, and it’s plenty big. It’s really fast too on the internet! Such an improvement from my old laptop.
