<p>Contact engineering, they may have a suggested minimum configuration. They can also answer any other questions you may have, (i.e., PC vs Apple etc.). There is a USC purchasing program that can get you discounts on any computer buys.</p>
<p>I don’t think any program requires you to buy a specific laptop… there are both Macs and PCs all over campus. I personally have a Vaio and I love it. I’ve had my Vaio for over a year and the battery still lasts 6 hours, which is great in lecture halls with no outlets. :P</p>
