Laptop?

Budget: $1000 -
Major: Biology
Use: School work, general use, some PC gaming

I need a strong reliable laptop, but I don't know where to begin. I'm most comfortable with the PC, and have stayed with HP for the last 2 computers.

I'm thinking of going to Best Buy to check out their deals. What would you guys recommend? o:

Best Buy usually rips you off. Take a look at the other threads. You’ll notice that everyone has been asking the same questions.

Personally, I recommend you start by looking at business-grade laptops like Dell Latitude, Lenovo Thinkpad, HP Elitebook, and some of the better-built Asus. The amount of wear and tear that the laptop will go thru in a college environment is actually more than that of your typical business user and 100s of times more than that of your typical home user.

Can you give us an example of what games you’re going to play? It’ll help us better gauge your graphics requirements.

usually the best deals come from internet retailers like Newegg, Tiger Direct, and Ebay.

You should also see the laptop in person before buying it. So go to BB, staples, and walmart.

what are your preferences on weight, power, and battery life too?

Get the HP Envy 14. Best PC laptop I ever owned.
