What are you planning on using to carry around your laptops, a backpack, bag, or case?

And is anyone going to be taking a bike to college?

Thanks

I don't really know what I'll be doing about carrying a laptop around. I might be getting a backpack when I get up there (taking advantage of no sales tax).

I will buy a bike when I'm in New Hampshire so that I don't have to haul one from TN. I'm thinking a mountain bike would probably best, since I'll be using it primarily (so I think now) on campus (though I also plan to be very involved in the DOC). What kinds of bikes do other '10s plan on getting?

If you are going to have a bike make sure you have the tools to take of it. My neighbor last year was really snazzy with stuff like that and refused to leave his bike outside ever but then again he lived in one of those 3 rm triples. But if you really only plan on using the bike for like one term(fall), cause Winter can cause a load of damage to a bike, then get an inexpensive one. Also with the laptop, I found that getting one of those cool little cases was more convenient because then I didn't need to carry my laptop backpack around. The laptop backpack was really uncomfortable, note do not purchase it from the school. And please tell me you got a Mac...:)

For laptop carrying, I'm getting a laptop sleeve so I can put my laptop in my messenger bag if I need to or just carry the laptop in the sleeve if I don't need the rest of my junk. And yes...ALL HAIL MACS!!! ^_^

I got my mac from the school, whats bad about that? As for Bikes I'm taking one with me I will disasimble it and fly it up there M 80 mountain bike or M some # anyway I can't belive I can't remember... But ya Its my dad old mountain bike so who cares if it gets trashed

Bikes are great if you are planning on being heavily involved in the DOC, but the campus is small enough that you don't really need a bike to get around. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk from one end of campus to the next. If you're gonna live in the river, a bike might be a good idea, but if not, I don't think a bike is absolutely necessary.

Also, Dartmouth sells these great laptop sleeves that will fit perfectly if you purchased your laptop through the school. I've used the same Jansport backpack for three years now and it works fine.
