<p>If your school is Mac oriented - they only support Macs with their technical help, unless you are a really good computer person, I'd recommend going with their recommendation.</p>
<p>Using a Mac will not in any way hurt you. And for many types of applications (especially in the arts), it is a superior platform.</p>
<p>I think it makes more sense to get a Mac. The techies will be able to help you a lot more if something goes wrong with your computer. Macs don't get viruses, which can become problems at schools that have a lot of pcs. I think the reason a lot of kids get pcs is because they used to not run windows and most schools give better support for pcs.</p>
