For the current or former students, does it ever really get to you in a negative way about how many students are at the school or is the campus so large that is easy to find your nook if you will?

I love how big UF is, but that's my feeling towards it. I think it's pretty easy to "find your nook" as you say.

I'm really not too worried about the amount of people due to the fact that I'd be coming from Miami. I was just curious as to whether or not it becomes overwhelming at times.

Not really, I never really felt it as overwhelming. Your intro courses will be large, but it's like that at any school (Harvard has 300 to 500 intro courses as well). But once you get into your major, it feels a lot smaller.

I am not the best to answer this question. I prefer smaller schools. UF wasn't my first choice, it was hard to turn down my 3 two 20 acceptances for UF because I worked so hard for it. I have learned to make use of the advantages that UF offers me. Such as the numerous research opportunities, over 600 student organizations, and leadership opportunities.

I love that UF is so big. It definitely was something that attracted me to the school. General Ed classes and intro courses will be huge and you have to make more of an effort to get the Professor to know who you are. I'm from Miami too and what worried me more was that Gainesville is a small college town and Miami was a huge city, but you get used to it. It's actually a lot of fun.
