Most important question —If you take the October SAT and wait until the release date to send scores (oct 18), will it be safe to say they will make it by the 11/1 EA application deadlines? I guess this question stands for the November date and a potential 12/1 deadline.
If you already have admission to a school based on a previous SAT score, can you send them the new ones and have your scholarship amounts potentially revised? I know this may vary by school. But in general, do schools do this?
I certainly wouldn’t say it’s safe to assume they would arrive. CB says scores will be sent to schools within 10 days of release, if they were ordered along with the test registration. So that’s already between the 18th and 28th.
If ordered later, ”Non-rush scores ordered outside of registration are delivered once a week, generally on Wednesdays.” Based on what I’ve read (and common sense), reports ordered after the free delivery would be processed after . So while it’s possible they would be delivered on the 23rd, it’s more likely it would be the 30th or later. Thanks cutting it close. Rush delivery may help, but typically only by a couple of days.
You need to see if your targets say anything about last test date.
And realize that, if there’s any delay, they could review your app before new scores come in or are processed to your file.
That’s not fatal and they can recheck your file with the new scores. Or an addl reader would see them. But it depends on how strong a candidate you are, to begin with.
