Hi I was just wondering what happens when you submit an application like 20 minutes late
I was ready to submit everything then all of a sudden some of the questions I had answered before all got deleted so I had to do them all over again.
The application was for Rice Universities fall 2019 term for architecture
And the due date was at 11:59 January 1
But I turned mine in January 2 at 12:20
Do they send me an email ? How do I know they are going to accept my application? I’m kind of hoping since it was over the holidays they wouldn’t be in the office to accept it
I’m also a little scared to call because then that would notify them that my application was sent in late
What do I do ? I’m kind of freaking out because I really really want to get accepted
Or at least get the chance for my application to go through the holistic review.
This was all through the common app
same thing happened to me for like 3 colleges (im bad lmao). Just email them asap and let them know what happened. There’s a good chance that they’ll let u get away with it without any hard feelings.
Should I email them later? I could email them right now but it’s kind of late

Downloads don’t depend on the office being open. Rice is one of the colleges, imo, that are hard to predict, in the first place. Many colleges are not fixated on 11:59. But I’d be concerned, as you are, that an email flags you to the adcom.
You can call and ask whomever answers the phone if it matters. You could ask anonymously. Or you can wait and see.

What is showing up in your Rice portal? If your application is showing up you are probably ok. If nothing is showing up, that would be more troublesome. The admissions office opened today after the holiday. Call your regional advisor and ask so you don’t worry needlessly. https://admission.rice.edu/meet-your-counselor

Now that you have submitted your application, be on the lookout for an email from Rice in the next few days that has a link to the portal. Be sure to check your junk/spam folder in case it goes there. Your application will be time stamped so calling them won’t tell them anything they won’t learn anyway when they review your application. However, it might save you months of anxiety.
