I never applied for CalGrant, because I wasn’t really paying attention and didn’t know what it was. I just got an email from them a couple days ago saying that I can submit a late GPA appeal if I was unable to send my GPA due to reasons outside of my control. I don’t actually have a reason since I simply just didn’t know about this whole thing, but if I don’t get a valid late appeal in, I’ll have to pay over $10k more than I would’ve otherwise had to…
Any suggestions?
So submit your GPA verification.

High School Seniors:
California law requires that all public and charter high schools electronically upload GPAs to the CSAC (California Student Aid Commission) for Cal Grant consideration for current enrolled seniors that do not opt-out. GPAs are only accepted by high schools that are fully accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges or other regionally accrediting agency, or have a University of California (UC) approved course list.

Yes, our high school automatically sent our kids’ GPA’s to the Student Aid Commission. Then, the kids, that had requested LOCs from their counselors, would be given a letter, from their counselor, indicating that their GPA had been submitted.
The high school registrar, at our district high school has been going in, part time, to submit college paperwork.
Send an email to your high school registrar to request your transcript. The Student Aid Commission is aware that some California high schools have not finished their semesters, so go ahead and request your transcript. The registrar will input final grades and submit them.
