Late Course Selection Advice

Hey, everyone!

I recently transferred to a public school from an IB private school mid-semester. I’m a current junior, and although the first semester is wrapping up, I’m still in a little predicament about my classes. The transition from IB to AP was pretty rough for me considering I have been in Pre-IB for all my academic career. I’m taking AP Language and Composition and AP Environmental Science. I have a lot of work to catch up on in both classes and am starting to wonder if keeping AP Environmental Science would make much of a difference. I know the more AP classes, the more colleges will appreciate. Right now, I’m not taking any foreign language due to scheduling conflicts (but already took two years)… should I continue with Spanish this year and drop AP Environmental Science? They are during the same block! I feel like Spanish would benefit me more in the future, but AP Environmental looks better for college.

I’m interested in pursuing law in college so I’m considering taking AP US Government and Politics next semester online through Apex on my own.

Any input?? Thanks!

It is important to take Biology, CHemistry and Physics during HS. Make sure to take those…AP Env. Science is not an important topic. If it helps you I would drop it.
Top colleges want you to get to level 4 of a language…like Spanish 4.

More APs =/= better

Drop APES and take Spanish.

drop APES, which is an elective (science should include bio, chem, physics + 1 class senior year), and take foreign language level 3 (+ level 4 senior year if you’re aiming for selective colleges). Foreign language is a “core” class alongside English, Science, Math, Social Science, which you need 4 units of.
