Late Financial Aid and Dues

About a month ago I decided to go back to a college I used to go to from the community college I was about to attend. I had my FASFA completed but I completely forgot that the school I was to attend was not on my FASFA. About a week before Christmas I turned in my FASFA properly and awaited my financial aid. A short while before this I was sent my bill to which I realized my financial aid didn’t go through. This bill now needs to be paid in this next few days and the financial office said that it has still not completed my application. Now I’m panicking because I’m not sure how I will pay for it. My parents won’t help and will be outraged that this is so late. If anything I need to apply for a private student loan to pay for it. I asked the office if they would just change my payments accordingly but instead they told me I had to pay the first payment to avoid late fees and holds. I’m thinking of just taking the late fee and waiting for my actual payments to show up. Any suggestions? Is there a solution I don’t know about? Please help!

And yes I realize how incompetent and irresponsible this all sounds but it just turned out this way and I don’t know how it got to this. Will they let me go to classes even though i don’t pay in the beginning? Also would accepting a late fee lead to bad credit?

We cannot answer your questions. You need to make an appointment with someone in the financial aid office to find out exactly what can be done for your situation. Do this next week.
