Hi, I was just wondering about late interview requests? I got an interview request on December 7th and met with my interviewer on December 8th... I'm really unsure about what that could mean in terms of my application status... So, please let me know if you have any insight!

I felt like the interview went well! It was really long--one hour and 45 minutes--but it was very enjoyable. Is that length normal? Is it good to have such a long interview or did I talk too much?? My interviewer was very focused on writing my report and getting it out within 2 hours of finishing the interview.

There’s no telling about what the significance is, apes – so speculation is only wasted energy. Really, enjoy yourself. So many seniors are constantly nervous right now. What you fail to recognize is that you’ve worked hard and you’ll be aptly rewarded with a 99% likely super successful college career. When I was in your shoes, I made a conscious effort to make the most of my senior year – I asked out all the girls who I was afraid to earlier, I made a point to not slack off and get all As in the toughest courseload anyone in my school ever had taken, I was going to make great memories w/my friends. I was going to enjoy my last HS year!

Please plan the same for yourself. You deserve it

As a Yale interviewer I cannot tell you what the significance may be but there is more than enough time for what they wrote to be considered by the Adcoms. It is good that they were committed to writing it up and sending it in immediately. I must have been a good interview because I don’t sit that long with an applicant unless I am enjoying it. That being said, there is no correlation between the length of interviews and admission rates.

I agree with T26E4 - you should be enjoying senior year. It is also the holidays. This is the last holiday season that you will be home, enjoy your family and friends. This is what you have worked for your whole life. At this point, there is nothing to do about the college thing but wait. Might as well take the time now to smell the roses.
