My teacher has just told me he won’t be able to upload my letter until a couple days after the deadline. I can’t find a specific answer on JHU’s website stating that this is okay, except for a blog post from 2006 that said it was. On their website, it says all materials must be in by 1/2/17. Does this include letters of recommendation? I know some schools have a “grace period”. Will my application still be accepted? And would a late letter hurt me in any way?
The FAQ on their website says, “All applicants’ files are carefully checked for completion. We will notify applicants who have incomplete files, and give those students an opportunity to provide us with any missing items, before we evaluate their applications.” (https://apply.jhu.edu/apply/faq/all-applicants/) You will be fine. When the letter gets sent is out of your control; just make sure you send in your app by the deadline.
