Late Optional Letter of Recommendation (Fine Arts Teacher)

Hey guys!

So I submitted my application to Emory University with all the necessary recommenders (school teachers, guidance counselor, etc.) by 01/01, which was the application deadline. I asked my piano teacher of 8 years to write me a letter, however she did not get it completed until today.

Is it possible for her to still send it to the college? Or should I not risk my chances (since it may look bad that she’s sending in the letter a week after the deadline) and not send it. It’s not required on CommonApp and was listed as optional, but she went through the effort to write one…

It won’t reflect badly on you at all. As long as they say additional letters are okay, go ahead.

That definitely made things a lot less stressful for me. I’ll go ahead and make sure my piano teacher’s letter goes through!
