Recommendation Letter! please help!

Hi guys,

I'm applying to multiple schools that only require ONE or more recommendation letter from academic teachers and only one of the colleges i'm applying to (Emory University) requires 2 recommendation letters.

My AP physics teacher already submitted his recommendation letter on common app, and I need to get one more letter to apply to Emory.

The thing is, none of my teachers other than my physics teacher really know/ have an interest in me.

I do not want to submit a letter from a teacher that doesn't know me well.. but i have no choice if i want to apply to emory.

Here's my question::

So once I have 2 recommendation letters submitted on common app, is it possible for me to choose which recommendation letter I want to send or submit?

I don't want to send 2 letters for ALL of the colleges that require only 1 letter. I would prefer to send only my physics teacher's letter but not the other teacher's letter...

Help me please!

Yes you can pick which letters go to what colleges.

Agree that you can select. But I think it depends on how your school interacts with the Common App. At my kid’s school, the guidance counseling office actually submits the “school forms” (including letters) for each school through Naviance. They asked each student to tell them in writing (on a form) which letters they wanted to send to each school. Then they upload the appropriate letters based on that. It is best to talk to your school guidance counselor about how to handle this.

Look back to last year’s teachers if you need to in order to find someone to write your second letter. It is important to get your request in to someone right away, as the timeframe is short and break is coming up. The more time you give them, the more favorably they will think of you when writing. :)
