Teacher Letter Of Recommendation Issue

The great thing is that my teachers wrote me a letter recommendation, the bad part is is that I’m applying to another school and I did not email them to submit the recommendation letters to that school before winter break started. I requested it through naviance. I thought it would be better to wait after Christmas to email them, but now I’m afraid that if I email them it would be inappropriate or I would probably not get a response since it’s break. My deadline is January 1st and I’m unsure how to get this issue resolved. Any advice?

Get your application submitted by January 1 – it should be OK if the LORs come in a few days late.

I looked at the school’s deadline and it says that “Recommendations from one counselor and one teacher” is due on January 1st. They don’t mention anything about late submissions for it. Just in case I’ll email my two teachers to let them know but I’ll make sure to submit my application by January 1.

Thank you for replying!

I guess that’s your best plan at this point. But don’t assume that your teachers will necessarily check their email from wherever they’re spending their break.

I’m thinking about calling the office of admissions and asking if it would be possible that my teachers could send their recommendation letters one day late since they will back to school the next day. However, I feel that it would be rude and perhaps makes me sound uninterested when applying to that school, which I am interested and would love to attend. Realistically, I know it is my fault for not contacting my teachers earlier before the break, but the days have already gone past. But, do you think it would be best to contact the admissions office and ask them about this?
