Hey guys, so my recommender is in a different school and we had some miscommunications. The point is she won’t be able to submit the recommendation by the deadline. But I have a copy of the recommendation. If I email the admissions office explaining the situation and attaching a copy, and then telling them she will upload it ASAP when the break is over. Will they accept it? Thanks in advance!

You could try to phone them to be sure, but I would be surprised if this really went against you. Your plan sounds solid to me (unless they prohibit the student from seeing the recommendation? In which case, I’m not sure if it would be better to keep the actual letter to yourself for now.)

Most schools don’t take recommendations very seriously or highly if the student has not waived their rights to the recommendations. This means has agreed not to see them. So I would recommend you not tell the admissions fellow that you have a copy as then they won’t look at it as seriously or weight it as much even if it is good.
