I’m honestly so angry at myself, and ready to throw up.
I submitted my Common App recently and when I opened the Application Status page, I realized that you had to send SAT Subject Test scores for the College of Arts and Sciences. I already took them, which is fine. BUT I haven’t sent them, because of whatever reason - mostly being lazy and apathetic. They weren’t my best scores, and I didn’t want to send them if I didn’t have to. For most of the schools I want to go to, it’s not required to send them out. But I realized it is for Cornell, so I started to get worried.
The moment I realized they were required, I logged onto Collegeboard and sent two of my subject tests with rush delivery. But in my haste, I also didn’t realize I sent my low SAT scores (2 of the tests!) as well. WHICH I DIDN’T REALIZE UNTIL I SAW THE INVOICE. So now they may/may not see my late scores, plus the LOWEST SCORES for SAT as well. (No COLLEGEBOARD I DIDN’T PAY AN EXTRA $30 FOR THIS.)
On the other hand, I’ve had my adequate ACT scores sent since April.
I did some major research after this (which I should have done when first applying but I was juggling a bunch of other colleges that I wanted to go to more) and found a couple of things:
- Test scores aren’t that big for admissions (from Cornell Admissions Blog). Great, so I shouldn’t worry that much?
- The college sends emails for missing information around February time in their Self-Service Faq section as follow:
“Applicants who receive notice of missing materials are given instructions for submitting missing information in time for their application to be considered.”
Again, probably means I shouldn’t be worried?
I just want to know if anyone had any previous experiences like this, and how this situation will work out? I won’t call the school until around February or so because this seems silly but I’d like to hear from the interwebs.
