My teacher said that she hasn't finished the recommendation and that she'll send it in by next week. Should I be worried?

No, but you should encourage her to send it as soon as possible, if you feel comfortable.

You won’t be penalized for a late teacher recommendation. It happens every year for a variety of reasons.

Mollie’s right. As long as it’s sent in by next week, it will be OK. Schools know that you have no control over these things and LORs frequently straggle in a few days late.

Do be sure to follow-up with the teacher though and make sure it does get sent in soon.
