latin awards???

i have a quick question...i just transfer and i know that my GPA wont transfer, if i get good grades will i get the summa cum laude and those kind of awards on my diploma???? or does my previous GPA affects that award status????

"and i know my GPA wont transfer"

looks like you just answered your own question.

so will i get those honors on my diploma yes or no...

if you get good grades at UCLA, enough to earn summa cum laude, then yes. CC GPA has no bearing on that.

if you're asking whether you'll get summa cum laude from your CC grades... um... no.

well i know i wont get them from my past university cuz the GPA dosnt transfer but what i was asking was that if i get A"s and B"S enought to get a 3.8-4.0 GPA will i get those honors....thanks for answering i really appreciated

Latin Honors are awarded for these grade point averages: cum laude (3.636 GPA), magna cum laude (3.780 GPA), or summa cum laude (3.870 GPA). The GPA is calculated automatically by computer; you do not apply or fill out forms to receive this honor.

To receive recognition for Latin Honors on your diploma and final transcript, you must have met the cumulative GPA requirement and have completed at least 90 graded University of California units by the end of your final quarter.

Transfer students may petition for Latin Honors with less than 90 graded UC units — see your College counselor for more information.

the gpa #s changes a lot so need to pay attention to year when you graduate. #s are also higher for engineers

i know that i dont apply or fill out any forms i am not dumb...all am asking is that if i get the grades will i automatically be considered for this awards even if am a transfer student.....

............................. so there are requirements to get latin honors such as the one that was quoted, both gpa and minimum uc units. you already say that you know you don't apply or fill out forms. in the quoted block, they also talk about transfer students. transfer students qualify for latin honors. if you have less than the required units because you're a transfer student it says to talk with a counselor....... so if there are no forms and no applying and transfers qualify ..... ???
