Laundry Questions

What amount of money would you recommend depositing into the laundry account? Can Big Red Bucks be used for doing laundry? Is extra money that is put into the laundry account lost after the semester ends (or after the year ends)? My parents want to put $75 into my laundry account and I'm worried that if I don't use that much I will lose it. Thanks.

Yes, you do have to eat the extra money at the end of the year. But putting money on the card isn't that hard/taxing...so you can start with a reasonably low amount and just keep adding...places like the service center at RPCC can help you out with that.
Each wash+dry cycle costs $3, I believe...so if you would do laundry once a week that's roughly $40-45 a semester.

are there any laundry services? what about dry cleaners?

rpcc service center does offer laundry service i believe...

but dont tell anyone you get your undies washed by cornell...they'll know how much money you have...

dont worry about not knowing how to do laundry...you'll either learn the hard way or you can practice now?

at cornell the machines have cotton (hot), colors (warm), bright colors (cool) for settings (i think)

just put the money on before you do laundry. $75 is washing/drying 25 times. i dont think ive done laundry 25 times yet for the 2 years + 2 summers ive spent at cornell

does the laundry service air dry things if i specify that they should? most of my clothes dont go in the dryer.
ive tried to do it myself a few times and it never ends well. then my mom tried to help me but she cant do it either and something broke and leaked it was awful. even worse would be to do the same thing in a shared laundry room and make everyone in my dorm hate me.
