Laundry service?

Has anybody used one of the laundry services on campus? I see that there are a few. I haven't decided if one of them might be worth the cost/convenience. Any experience? Reviews? I used a service when I was a student in Tel Aviv, but we used to drop off our laundry at the site and pick it up washed and folded. It was very inexpensive there. These all seem to pick up from the dorm room (and are much more costly).

I would use Dormaid. Get the weekly pickup option with the lowest weight option (25 pounds, I think). They come right outside your dorm. Not inside, but outside the building.

It works out to be $20 per pickup, but when you factor in opportunity cost it turns out to be a good deal. If 25 pounds isn’t enough then just have your kid demand a bigger bag and the driver (Harold) will give in free of charge because he doesn’t like conflicts.

Thanks. Were you happy with the service? How does drop off and pick up work so that your stuff is safe?

I was happy with it, but the driver was occasionally late. You schedule a pickup/dropoff time for him to come by, and he’ll meet you outside the dormitory building. Your bag is sealed and labeled-- I’ve never had them lose anything and will be using them again next year.

Obviously it’s cheaper to do your own laundry, but when you’re shelling out 250 grand on tuition and housing alone, why not?

Saugus, nobody we know uses the service. If you are still using it (as you said above), send me a message. They offer a $20 discount for you and $10 off for us for referring a friend. It’s unlimited, so if anyone else sees this and is interested, you can get more money off through others.

What are ALL the laundry services available at Cornell??

I have heard about, lazybones laundry… How is that?

There are washers and dryers all over campus. You’ll be in class 3 to 5 hours a day and definitely have time to do it yourself. It’s only august 2…time to learn.
