Does Emory have any laundry service available for students?

Of course. It's Country Club University!

Does anyone have experience with it? It may be a "Country Club" service, but one I was glad to learn about. My D has a disability and laundry was actually one of the things I was worried about. This will make life much easier even though I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever pay for anyone to do my child's laundry -- they have all started doing their own at around 6th grade.

Yeah, every few days you drop your laundry bag in a designated spot at your dorm. It comes back approximately 2 days later clean and folded.

Did you ever think you'd pay for your daughter to go to class around immaculate landscaping in giant marble buildings with Spanish Tile roofs and touch screen plasmas? Emory is amazing like that.

I had the laundry service for all of last year. You place all the laundry in one bag, provided by the company. If you pay a little more, you get another bag which is for "hang dry" items.

One day a week you place the bag in the pre-determined pick up spot, usually the lobby of your building. It is returned the following day, clean and folded. Hang dry items are returned on hangers.

For the $, it is very well worth it. That reminds me...I need to sign up for next year.

You got your laundry back the next day? Strange.

My son started Emory with a broken leg ( in a cast for 6 months) and could not get up and down the steps to the laundry room in his dorm (he couldn't carry a laundry sack while on his crutches) so the laundry service was a life saver. However, he wasn't thrilled with the quality of the service -- he complained that the clothes always felt stiff when they came back and that sometimes they were ironed weirdly or that wrinkles were ironed in. He discontinued the laundry service sometime during second semester .

Sounds nices ... how much does it cost?

20lb per week plan is 698 for the entire year.
