hey everyone, im supposed to choose a "controversial topic" and write a 13 page paper on it and then present it in front of this panel for a scholarship....SO-i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a really interesting controversial topic that isnt convential (like abortion, stem cells, gay marriage etc)

It's your paper. Maybe you should be thinking of an idea yourself. The panel will think that whatever you presented was your own idea, so don't fool them. It's not fair to the other applicants.

Advice: Look for things that are important to you, and research those, looking for a topic.

Actually, no. I think that's a great topic b/c you can argue freedom of expression vs. its historical significance and the action's implications.

Just sit down and think about what you're passionate about. You're making this a lot more difficult than it needs to be. :) If you're passionate, the paper will pretty much write itself.

^ not they're not, not if they think their whole future's at stake which it probably is...at least it's not as bad here as at certain other countries...
