Currently, I'm attending the University of California, Irvine. I entered as a transfer student from a community college; my gpa was a 3.56. Now, I'm on my second quarter and I have not performed well. Adjusting to a University was difficult, so my current gpa is a 2.9. I have calculated what I believe my gpa would be after this quarter, and I have concluded that it will be around a 3.2 after two quarters. I understand admissions is cut-throat; therefore, I would like to know if my chances of raising my gpa to atleast a 3.6 realistic. My goal is to get admitted to a tier one school; UCLA, USC, Berkeley preferably. I just need some advice. I have a year, and a quarter, left of school. Each quarter I have to take 3-4 classes; the year consists of three quarters, not including summer. Also, as a transfer student, how would they calculate my community college gpa? I just have so many questions; any form of help would be appreciated. Thank you.
