I think in freshman year people don’t eat with their houses, but from then up they do, though they always have the choice of sitting with another house.

So do you know all the kids in the other houses or is it more like a fraternity where everything you do is with the same group? Do you feel trapped socially from the house system?

My information may be very dated, but the House system in no way traps students socially. My friends were only somewhat more likely to come from my own house as from any other house. It’s easy to find the other students who you want to be friends with and the accident of which House you are in won’t keep that from happening. And keep in mind that Houses only apply to 10th and 11th graders. (When I was there, the 9th grade and the small 8th grade were also in a different set of Houses, but they were completely reshuffled in 10th grade).

I am going into Lawrenceville as a tenth grader and I am really excited(: I’m just a little scared because I have never been to a different school than mine before since it is K-12.

im going in as a ninth grader :)

Congrats on getting in to Lville! I am currently a junior and I could never be happier than at Lawrenceville. Attending Lawrenceville is definitely the best choice I have ever made.

Lawrentians, Do you have a golf team at your school? If you do, who do you compete with? What’s your record like?

Yes we do have a golf team and a golf course on campus.
I am not on the team, but I would guess we play against the local MAPL schools and other neighboring schools (peddie, hun, blair, mercersburg, hill, PDS, etc…)

The team’s record is on the school website, I do not know how up to date it is:

Llville, Thanks. :)

YES! Golf! haha I play golf(:

How long have you been playing? L’ville has a great course, yeh.

I’ve been playing for about 4 and a half years.

hey guys, i go to lville and if you have any questions feel free to pm me! :)

Are there Math and/or Science Olympiad teams at LVille? How is the faculty support for these teams? How do these teams train, after school? Is there a critical mass of students interested in M&S at Lville? How strong is the Math Dept and are they inspiring, passionate teachers? What options exist for those who want to go beyond HS math curriculum? If you are a nerd or a geek, will you fit in? I appreciate your honest answers as these are important questions for me. Thanks.

bump…

there are active math and science olympiad teams at lville. They both have faculty advisors who support the teams and dedicate a lot of time. training is done after school and on weekends. there is also a lot of science training over breaks. there definitely are a number of math/science students at lville! math department is average at lower level math and excellent at upper level math (precalc and up). The curriculum goes up to multi variable calc/ calc based stats/ linear algebra. If you complete all of these courses, you may work with a teacher to find other options or create an independent study. There are a variety of students at lawrenceville, yes everyone fits in and everyone has loads of friends. Personally, I am stronger in math and science and I would say that I fit in fine.

I see many clubs are listed on the Lawrenceville website. Are all the clubs active currently? If not, can you post a list of clubs that are currently active? Thanks.

Invent, thanks for reactivating this thread. I’m interested in the clubs at Lawrenceville, too. Also does anyone know much about the dance program? I hear its gotten better, and that dancers can take classes and perform year round. True?

expatmother, Here is a link on L’ville website: [Theatre and Dance](http://www.lawrenceville.org/academics/the_arts/theater_and_dance/calendar.asp)

May be some current students can chime in. Where are LLVILLE, LOLZBABE, DAPPLE when we need them?
