laxfan04 returns!!!

Hello all and sorry for my absence -- FINALS!!! Well there has been a lot of activity since last I posted. I guess something "big" must have happened. Oh yeah -- EARLY DECISION IS DONE! and now we move right into Regular Decision and all those questions (and those hated "chances" threads...)

Congratulations to all those accepted ED - from all I have heard you are all an amazing start to the Class of 2010 and the adcoms are quite excited with how everything turned out. You are not only part of the largest ED applicant pool in JHU history, but you are also the "strongest" (if numbers matter to you).

For those deferred, it is not the end of the road - I know a number of students over the two years I have been here that were admitted after being deferred. Don't give up and know that even if things don't work out with JHU there is a great school out there for you.

So in my absence there has been a lot of interesting discussions...and as usual some misinformation. I truly love how some people just show up and post on CC like they are informed sources...remember to check "the source" when reading CC.

Since there are actually a lot of questions/issues/concerns throughout the posts the past 5 days I compiled a list for my boss in the Admissions Office. He actually will be posting a blog later today (<a href="http://hopkins.typepad.com/%5B/url%5D">http://hopkins.typepad.com/</a>) and answers to a lot of frequently asked questions on the new Hopkins messageboard (<a href="http://messageboard.chatuniversity.com/jhuboard/)%5B/url%5D">http://messageboard.chatuniversity.com/jhuboard/)</a>.</p>

In fact, I recommend for the best information you all should starting check the blogs and boards out frequently.

It is good to be back...

and oh yeah -- check out the student blogs too...

(((Shameless plug, I know -- but it is better than posting about an amazing Spring Break opportunity.)))

hey lax,
could you let us in on how many got accepted to the biomed. engineering major?

BanKai, i am not sure but I expect it is between 50-60 students have been offered the BME major through ED. typically about half the entering BME class comes through ED and the other half through RD.

i'll check on official stats, but typically they are not released until the full BME selection process is complete.

would you happen to know approximately how many out of the 478 admitted actually chose bme as their first choice major?

sorry for all the questions, the anxiety is painful though...

yea u can say that again grey

once again i am not sure of an exact number and I will look into it, but I do believe it was close to 100 of the students admitted were BME first choice. Don't quote me on that though.
