Lead sbi program help

I really really want to get into Lead and we find out the results tomorrow.

I have all A's (not even an A-)
I am taking the hardest classes possible (2 honors, 3 AP's and one is CALC AB)
I go to a prestigious high school that is well known (a certain 2012 presidential candidate went there)
I am vice-president of my class
vice-president of french club
over 400 hours of volunteering (habitat for humanity, gleaners, baldwin center, salvation army and many more)
I am a african american female

But I have a horrible PSAT.....180

Do I even stand a chance?

I think there is not much to do than wait till tomorrow. My son has also applied so hopefully you both will get in. Regardless, your stats look great and I think you have a good chance of getting in. Good luck!

which universities did he choose?

Due to scheduling conflicts he could not pick the top school he wanted so we picked based on dates which turned out to be U Michigan.

Have you received anything from them? They said we would know if we were rejected, accepted or wait listed by today but I haven’t received anything…

Same! I just checked again this morning and STILL no reply… I think they’re trying to give me a heart attack!

My son was waitlisted, so don’t think there is a chance there. Got the email last night around 9pm EST. Apparently they got 800 applications for 150 spots.

Good luck to everyone else. I assume that they will be sending the emails out in batches so I am sure you will get a reply soon!

I’m worried!! Has anyone received an acceptance email yet??

anyone find out yet?

I FINALLY heard back… and have been accepted to Lead SBI at Upenn Wharton Business School!!! I wish everyone else the best!

Congrats!! Are they sending them out in batches or something??

and @lydiamanglin are u like a genius? or a national merit scholar? Did you have amazing grades??

I’m still awaiting mine and I’m really worried!

To be honest, I didn’t expect to even make it in, let alone to Wharton. @skysharde We actually have really similar profiles… I have:

-Mostly A’s in AP classes (a weighted 4.02 gpa)
-Attend a “reputable” high school as far as I know…
-5 years of musical training through band
-5 years of track & field
-4 years of Spanish
-National Honors Society, Student Council (rep. not vp), Spanish Honors Society, and I have a job
-Very community oriented
-350+ hours of community service (Humanitarian trip to Jamaica, Boys & Girls Club, etc.)
-I’m also an “African- American female”- whoop whoop
-Pretty strong recommendation letters and essays (I think these play a major factor)

…and a pretty low PSAT score (so NO WAY to the National Merit); it was really the first time and I had ever taken it or really even heard what it was lol.

I’m sure they look at so much more than simply your score… Your essays and profile should be more important factor, since its their only chance to really get to know you. Don’t give up hope, because I all but decided I had been rejected and I made it into Wharton. I keep asking myself why me?

I wish everyone the best and the speedy delivery of your admittance letters…

Thanks!!! If I get in, I hope to see you this summer!
