<p>Can anyone tell me about some leadership awards that are availible to people who apply? Some of my friends applied for a YMCA Leadership Award and most of them got it, which made me want to go apply for some other ones too since that one closed before I could apply. Does anyone know of those sort of award programs where you "apply" and send in an essay, recommendations, etc, and then get notified if you got it? If you need a region for finding the award, mine is New York.</p>

<p>I meant are there any award programs and leadership award programs you know of which you can apply to, and then they evaluate you based on your resume and accomplishments and essays and the other items you submit, and then decided whether or not to give you the award.</p>

<p>Hmm, there's the Elks "Most Valuable Student" Competition, but that's long passed. There's Rotary. Lowes maybe?</p>
