many of the leadership programs i've come across (NYLF, CLSC, JSA) are apparently are not very selective and extremely expensive, does anyone know any reputable leadership programs? thanks

That's an oxymoron. They all just want your $$.

if u wanna show leadership. dont go to those camps taht's what i've learned over the past few weeks. if u really wanna show leadership. go start ur own club or organization and ur passion for it. now THAT shows leadership

Boys State, Girls State, select leadership programs connected with cities' chamber of commerce, Hugh O'brian Leadership program -- all are very impressive as are being national or state president of a youth organization or student representative to your school board.

Going to leadership camps is fine, too, but just going to a camp won't count for much with the top colleges. IF you go to a camp and then apply what you learned by starting a major organization, organizing a project that has major impact, etc., that would be impressive.

Any club that cahrges you to improve your college chances is a rip off. The adcoms will laugh at you put it down on the top of your resume.

Idk about the others, but is JSA really like that?
i mean, its really not expensive at all and u can get financial aid and stuff...plus i heard it only accepts 1/3 of all applicants
and every1 says its challenging and rewarding blah blah blah

correct me if im wrong

I've heard JSA is a very good program. I had no idea it accepted only 1/3 of its applicants. harvard2727, where did you get that number?

i heard it from my friend, who went to JSA. his RA told him, apparently
i've also seen it posted on cc; go to google, type in "JSA summer school collegeconfidential.com"

lollipop, are you going to JSA?

yes, i am - im mucho excited

im going to jsa @princeton
and im sure its gonna be...awesome

im going to the princeton one as well!
