Well, the application process is finally over. Good luck to everybody, hopefully I'll be seeing some of you guys there over the summer! Now for the long, excruciating wait for April 24th...

That seems like years from now :/

I'm going to visit Penn over April break which is around that time...so it could either be a nice preview of LBW or just make me regret even more not getting in ahhhhhhh

I submitted my essay on the last day, and im wondering if i did it right. Do you just click Update at the end of the online app and then you're done?

There's no final "Submit" or anything right?

also did you guys get a final confiramtion email?, I didnt should i be worried?

I just got a confirmation email from carrie keyser confirming all of my application was recieved and sent to the admission committee

:)

Anyone else get confirmations?

i got one too, strangely enough i sent in all my materials after the due date...( i talked with one of the adcoms to allow this)

How many ppl apply and how mayn are accepted each year?
IS this program gonna be heavy on the test grades or on that 300 word essay?

I don't know how many people apply, but only 60 people are selected: 30 boys and 30 girls. I'm thinking a LOT of people apply so its very selective..

I applied too but I'm not really hoping for much...my stats aren't amazing..=( does it boost your chances at Penn though? Two people from my school got in last year, and one of them got into Huntsman at Penn ED~ so jealous! haha But the other got waitlisted ED. The guy who got waitlisted told me that usually 50% of the students who go to LBW are accepted to the univeristy, but don't know if that's true..

Hey Guys,

Since the application process is over, and we don’t have to worry about being cutthroat with hiding our application stuff from one another, haha, why don’t you introduce yourself? I am personally interested to hear what all the competition is like!

Looking forward to hearing back from you all!

Hey, I’m Kevin. From North Carolina, but originally from Jersey. I live in the Triangle area (Raleigh/Durham) with a whole bunch of relocated people and I really like it. The town I live in is in between Durham- Duke, Chapel Hill- UNC, and Raleigh- NC State. It’s called Cary, which is jokingly given the acronym Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. For living in the South, there’s a lot of interesting people, probably more international students at my school than in NJ.
Oh, I’m a Wolverines fan and like Duke basketball. I’m really interested in international business and economics. I also like Spanish and French. I swim a lot and work at my family’s clothing store (it suks because I hate shopping). Thankfully, I find time to hang out with my friends and I think I’m already getting senior-itis; only because I hate my classes now.
I don’t mean to get too in-depth haha

Hey Kevin, I think we’ve already met, hahaha.

lol im Josh…from belmont MA. I live 20 minutes from cambridge (harvard, mit, bu, bc are in cambridge). I take CS at harvard extension which is dominant and easily my second favorite class behind Econ. Just like kevin, I’m the founder and pres. of FBLA at my school; my SLC is tomorrow and running for state pres. too :)

I caddy during the summer and work at Gillette stadium during the winter (at NE Patriots games.) my big sport is golf…3 years varsity, all star, blah blah

hope to everyone gets good news in a few weeks!!!

oh yeah hey buddy, hows everything? Oh, and anyone who took the SATs on March 14, aren’t scores supposed to be ready by now

scores would usually come out on the Thursday of the third week (woulda been 4/2) but it’s next Tuesday (4/7) accordig to CB website…they’re changing grading machines or somethin

Hey, Kevin, pretty good, anticipating the results whatever they may be. We have similar stats haha. What is your ACT/SAT score, maybe we can see a little difference. I have a 32 on the ACT on my first attempt. No SAT worth sending yet. And I am the president of DECA at my school. I wish everyone the best of luck!!!

Lol hi josh…I got 2200 on Jan sat…no act…but waiting on a march sat score too. I was fourtunate enough to win FBLA state pres…along with both my events, tech concepts and econ.

The weakest part of my LBW app was probably gpa…which was 3.66/4.46(W). This is top 17% which I’m sure is much lower than many other applicants

3 weeks till decisions ah so long

Yeah, I won my event in DECA, so excited for Nationals! My GPA is a little better than yours, at a 4.00/4.55(W). But I am only around the top 10%, so I would say that we have a pretty even app haha, I think you may have the leg up for a few things though. Hopefully we will both get admitted!! I’m attending FBLA Competition next week, I think Entrepreneurship Team event? Not sure, not too big in FBLA. I might see you in Anaheim then, but I probably wont go because I am already going for DECA!

Yea MA has a small FBLA following so we got to do two events…gl on your presentation

Where are DECA natls?

Thanks, they are in Anaheim as well! I am so excited: Last year Atlanta was awesome, and Anaheim>Atlanta, so I am expecting it to be a legendary trip!

Hey guys, did anyone apply for both M&TSI and LBW?

if you did, which one would you guys chose? given that you got into both…

hi guys! i’m new to this website but i applied to this summer program too. i submitted an updated version of my essay the day it was due, approximately 11:30 eastern time. =/ hopefully, my edited version is considered.

my name’s jeannie and i’m from CA, in the bay area, about 45 min. from SF.

i’m on the forensics speech and debate team for the past 3 years and co-captain of debate for the past 2 years. i got 1st alternate for state this year (so close!!)

i really wish the acceptance/rejection letters come soon, the 26th seems too far away
