Leadership Positions for Business?

Hello!!

In the future, I hope to attend Wharton Business School at UPENN and I was wondering if any previous alumni or anybody who has experience in the business field could provide me with some leadership positions for business experience. I’m currently a sophomore in high school and was wondering if there were any clubs/organizations that I could join or start?

Thanks!!

Leaders don’t ask for leadership positions…leaders make leadership positions.

There are the traditional ways…getting involved in a club at school and being elected to a leadership position.
Or you can create a club of your own and be the leader.

Other ways to show leadership i have seen:
-Student involved in ethnic community center for years and then is asked to teach little kids
-Actual officer in a club
-Watched his little brother after school and encouraged parents to sign up brother for sports team and took him to practice
-Within a club, organized an activity for that club
-Lead a community service activity
-Lead singer of a band - sings, chooses set list, organizes transportation for other members
-Summer Camp counselor
-Boy Scout Eagle Award/Girl Scout Gold Award
-EMT Cadet
-Boys State/Girls State
-Sport Captain

So I would suggest getting involved in something…be it a club, part time job, community service, house of worship. Work hard and leadership opportunities will arise.

Saying “I would like to be a leader, please give me an opportunity” is not leadership.
