how many leadership positions do we need to get into Columbia? I know the more the better, but is there a "healthy" (lack of a better word) number??

*i *^∞

Even if you have leadership positions in 10 (arbitrary number) clubs, and show no passion in any of them, it not help you at all but may detract from your application. It is better to have leadership positions in a few clubs but show that you are dedicated to them.

You don't need any. What's important is what you've done re your activities, not what titles you've held. I don't think I had any "leadership positions"; I however had accomplishments and awards.

yeah, tons of leaders just sit on their butts and watch the world burn. I can name a few politicians. What matters is what you've done.

Thank you!! I don't have that many leadership positions, but I was quite involved. This really helps!

^^ haha, great, but make sure that you concentrate on the impacts that you've made. that's what'll be important

Yeah, it's not all about leadership positions. A school can't--and wouldn't want to--fill an entire class with dominating leader types. What they do want is motivated, passionated students, so show them that you've been noticeably involved in all your activities. If you're essentially inactive in a club, I personally wouldn't bother putting that down, but if you're an active member who has no leadership positions but still performs well at tournaments or organizes fundraisers or whatever, that's important too.
