Learning Spanish?

I need some help on what courses I should take to learn Spanish. I took 2 semesters of Spanish before transferring but I seriously need to just restart and make it a priority to learn.

I looked at the course description for Spanish 1 and it looked like it was purely reading and composition. Can anyone verify this?

Are there any decals that might work?

Also, does anyone know how many yrs of HS Spanish 2 semesters works out too? Might not even qualify to take Spanish 1...

can anyone confirm as i understand

1 yr of HS- qualified for Spanish 1
2 yrs of HS - only qualified for Spanish 2, not Spanish 1 (in my case)

Placement recommendations and information for Spanish language courses are here:

Note that Spanish 1 is a beginner course in Spanish language, while Spanish R1A and R1B are reading and composition courses.
