Spanish Courses

I'm an incoming freshman. I was in AP Spanish this yr and feel pretty comfortable with the language.
Right now, I'm deciding between Spanish 4 (Intermediate) and Spanish 8 (Spoken Spanish). I want to take a Spanish class that encourages speaking as well as grammar. Does the Spoken class emphasize grammar?
Has anyone taken any of these classes before? Which one do you recommend I take?

anyone?? .

.......que?.......

Four is when they expect proficiency- basically, it's a spanish lit class, as far as I can tell from people I've heard about who took it- this is true of most language at Berkeley- the difference between the third and fourth level is fairly large, larger than the distance between the first and second or second and third.

Does the department offer a test for you to see where you fit most comfortably? I would recommend calling the department's office and the department's office for undergraduate advising to see what they think, as well as listen to people here.
