Well I am a sophomore, and all summer I have been thinking that I would rather attend another college that is closer to home and that had a Vet Tech. Program. The school I am in currently has no Vet. program and the classes I am taking cannot be used for a Vet Tech. Degree. So transfering isn't really an option. Anyways, I absolutely hate living in the dorms (last year I had an apartment) and am miserable and depressed.

Is it weird of me to leave so soon, so that I can attend another school in the spring. If I stay then I will be wasting about $10,000 for credits that can't be transfered to another college for the degree I want. Should I waste the money and stay? If you saw someone moving out after a week what would you think of them?

I would think that the person who left decided that the environment they were in wasn’t a good fit for them so they moved to greener pastures. Whether it be another school, another job, another country, I wouldn’t know. I might also think that there was an emergency or an economic crisis that forced the person to leave.

I tend to reserve the “OMGz he/she is a loser!” for people that picked non-marketable majors then complain that they can’t find employment, for people who drop out and go into unskilled labor, and for people who believe in socialism.

Usually the loser party types that drop out don’t do it during the semester, they drop between semesters.

“Well I am a sophomore, and all summer I have been thinking that I would rather attend another college that is closer to home and that had a Vet Tech. Program.”

Why did you wait until after you started the semester?

How sure are you that you can be admitted to a school in the spring with a Vet Tech program?

If you stick this out, and get a degree in something you don’t/won’t want to do then you’ll look more stupid then quitting when you’re a Sophomore. Do you know how many people change their mind during college? A ton!

Yeah you might stick out a lot, but you’ll never see the people again so it doesn’t matter. Leave if you want to though, no use wasting money on something you don’t want to do.
