On behalf of LEDA’s Selection Committee, I would like to thank you for the time and effort taken in completing your application to the LEDA Scholars program. We appreciate how hard you’ve worked and your patience with our process over the past few months. It is with regret that LEDA is unable to offer you a place in our 12th Cohort.
We received a large number of applications from highly qualified students like you. But, given the very few places available, many talented students must be turned away.
In light of the outstanding achievements and credentials you presented to LEDA, we have no doubt that you will have tremendous success as you pursue a rigorous collegiate education. We encourage you to pursue your educational options with the same thoughtfulness with which you considered LEDA.

Hey! LEDA was the most life changing experience of my life. I found an entirely new family with Cohort 12 and could have not experienced it in any other way. I love every single member of my cohort, and even though there were some bad times, all the good times outweighed it. Everyone came home a new person and we’re ready to slay these tests and get into schools like Yale and Stanford. And as for @shanabanana1 , you were the most humorous inside joke of our cohort. We talked about your presence on this forum as we laughed over dinner at Princeton. You are an honorary member of Cohort 12
As best put by one of my fellow cohort members “It was fantastic, bye”
Hey everyone! Just because we were asked I want to respond as a LEDA Scholar on how our experience at the institute was. I could talk about the touring of prestigious universities, or the test prep as you mentioned, but I don’t think that’ll get to the heart of what made LEDA so special for myself and others. Yes, you’re right in bringing up the exposure to schools I never even really considered applying to. I met with a Yale admissions officer, for example, and after having dinner with her now have an entirely different perspective on the type of school I want to attend someday. We also have writing professors, many from Columbia oddly enough, that are helping us get our Personal Statements together. But it’s not even that, or meeting the President of the university, or going out to see a broadway show that made my experiences so memorable. In LEDA I met a second family, which I know sounds cheesy if you weren’t there to experience it. I met amazing people who I know worked hard to overcome the obstacles life had placed in front of them, and I’m honored to consider them all amongst my closest friends. We’re all actually in group chat right now- some of us found it amusing there was still interest in the program after it’s conclusion. I can’t put it as well as my fellow scholar above me put, but I will say that I am beyond enthused that y’all summers still went wonderfully.
