Leda Scholars Application: 2016-2017

My dad just has a huge stack of papers stapled together so I’m unsure as to what I should scan and send over. His stack is over 20 pages???

My mom’s was online, and it was about 14 pages. I just sent the entire thing in.

I only sent the first two pages because my mom has a whole stack too. It seems like the first two are the important ones, while the rest are details, but I’m not sure. Hopefully it works!

Yah I just like 4 or 5 pages…didn’t know how many I was supposed to send

.

I kind of just gave up hope now

There are other summer programs and opportunities, no matter what you’ll end up successful. It’s hard to stop someone who’s motivated

I’ve submitted mine! Good luck everyone!

I’ve submitted mine as well. Hope everyone gets interviewed!

What does the rejection letter say?

Just got rejected

me too

Rejected too. Good luck to all those who have moved on!

I forgot to notify you guys that I got rejected as well… I wanted this so incredibly bad, but I guess I’ll move on to the next thing and try my best there.

ALL THE LUCK TO EVERYONE AND I REALLY TRULY HOPE YOU ALL GET IN!

Does anyone know any statistics for what number of people make it to round 2? I know people have been saying 300 but where’s the proof? :)) I’m just curious.

I emailed and asked in november. I asked how many applied the previous year and how many of them advanced to stage 2 and the answer was 1090 and 300

From reading last year’s thread it looks like they cut a lot of people from part 2 (no interview scheduled) and pretty much everyone who gets an interview gets in. Can anyone confirm or disprove this?

@Hamlon that’s what a LEDA Scholar from last year told me

@Hamlon what programs have you applied to? It’s like you fell off the face of the earth.

@arinuma I got a scholarship for Carnegie Mellon and a mentor from Matriculate. Still waiting on MITES. I’m going to apply to a coding camp at UT, UWisconsin ESP, Kettering AIM, Questbridge, Indiana University slam camp, the ACLU Summer Institute, and a couple local internships. I’ve been on CC(a bit too much). I post mainly on the c/o 2018 thread.
