Hey… so I applied regular decision to CGS and my sats aren’t the greatest. I am an international student from Israel with American citizenship applying after a gap year. I got a 99 on the TOEFL. The thing is, my mom and aunt are alums-how much weight do you think that will have in my admissions decision?
They definitely take it into consideration. I heard them say so at an event where BU admissions staff went through several mock applications. But they also said the biggest factor is how you have done in your high school classes, and have you challenged yourself. They want to be sure students admitted will be able to succeed taking college courses.
The do take it into consideration, though most of my friends who went to BU hope their kids will go to Harvard, Williams or someplace like that. It’s a case of “moving on up”.
