Lehigh for non engineering/business majors?

I read that unless you are going in for engineering and business, Lehigh is not a place. My S is a political science/international relations type of a guy. Should we cross Lehigh off his list?

The views you are reading are outdated. Arts & Sciences is the [largest college](Lehigh University - Wikipedia) at Lehigh and its scholarship/ethos is on par with any top liberal arts college. My son was an IR major before he found his true passion in architecture. The [department[/url] is excellent and very rigorous…definetely not for the average student. They are even registered as an [url=http://www.lehigh.edu/~inunited/about.html]NGO with the United Nations](http://cas.lehigh.edu/casweb/Content/default.aspx?pageid=174):

It’s well worth a visit to meet with the department’s faculty and students to get a first-hand impression. While there, stop in on the the excellent art and music facilities along with the new, state-of-the-art [STEPS facility](http://www3.lehigh.edu/steps/index.html), a new part of Arts and Sciences.

If your son is up to the challenge and is self-directed in his studies, he might want to look at [South Mountain College](South Mountain College - Lehigh University - College Confidential Forums).

To get a deeper understanding of Lehigh, read through the [Strategic Plan](Lehigh University: Strategic Plan) and its [Alumni Bulletin](http://www3.lehigh.edu/news/bulletin/default.asp), which profiles many A&S alumni.

thank you. this is very helpful.
