Lehigh Vs UVM

Im having a lot of trouble deciding what college I want to choose for next year. I have been accepted to Lehigh, the university of Vermont, Fordham, Denison, Michigan State, Butler, Colorado Boulder, Dayton and waitlisted at Berkeley, Syracuse, Michigan and Villanova.I am looking to study business, my top choices for me are UVM and Lehigh. I have always wanted to get out of the mid west (from Michigan), that’s my main reason for throwing out all the midwest college choices, and Fordham and boulder are too expensive. One of the main divides between Vermont and Lehigh for me is that Vermont would cost me 28,000, while Lehigh would cost me 50,000. I met with both schools and Leigh’s price could go down a couple thousand for me possibly while Vermont’s could go up for me a couple thousand after my first year as well. My original top college choices were Syracuse and Lehigh, because I had always wanted a prestigious university and business school.
Vermont had been a top option for me because I loved the location in burlington and its close proximity to the mountains, I think i would be super happy there because of everything there is to do. Vermont’s business school though is not as highly ranked as Lehigh’s. I recently went to the admitted students day at Vermont though and met with the business school and really enjoyed them and believe I could become successful there if i put in the effort.
although Lehigh is a lot more expensive it is also a lot more prestigious than Vermont and has a better business school. I like many other aspects about Lehigh too and believe I would be happy there too but in essence what really matters to me there is the business school.

So basically my dilemma is choosing the more prestigious and better business school at Lehigh, which is also way more expensive, or going to Vermont which I think i will love being at,but i just think i could regret turning down such an amazing opportunity at Lehigh.

I would also try and get in the UVM honors college to find more academically focused people.

I would try to find out what the starting salaries are like for new grads coming out of both business schools. Also which companies recruit the students. You might find no difference or a big difference and that may help you decide whether prestige is worth it.

Lehigh has some of the highest starting salaries in the country (average starting is like 52,000 for business and 66,000 specifically for finance) , vermont’s is lower but both recruited from some good big companies, lehigh still has some better and wall street recruiting too

Lehigh’s 2016 placement data was just released: http://www1.lehigh.edu/admissions/undergrad/success/outcomes

You can’t just ‘get in’ the honors college. Placement in the honors college is offered by the admission committee. There’s no application.

Actually Your sophomore year at uvm you can apply to get in to the honors college
