Lenght of 'Why Yale' essay for transfers

Yes, I know...another 'Why Yale' thread. But please; humor me.

As a transfer applicant, there's no online application. So, back to the basics of printing and filling forms.

At this link is the form to be attached to the essays (along with the topics): http://www.yale.edu/admit/other/transfer/pdf/form2.pdf

Here's the topic "Why do you wish to transfer to Yale? What personal or educational experiences influenced your decision to apply?"

Now since there's not 300-character word count here, I'm wondering exactly what should the lenght of this essay be? I'm thinking two double spaced pages, but I know there are Yallites who are much more knowledgeable than me on the matter.

bumped. Actually there's no 300-character limit for transfer essays so im wondering what a good length would be. I'm thinking 2 pages (double spaced) per essay but that may be too much.

Thoughts?

Well, for the RD application, they ask for 2 500 word limit essays. Seeing as you're proposing two 1000+ word essays despite no stated limitaion, I think you're venturing onto thin ice. Pithy and compelling -- much better than long and laborious. Better yet, why don't you give the admissions office a call on what is the general preferred amount? GL to you
