LEP question #9000

I've sifted through a variety of L.E.P. questions and haven't found exact answers to my questions so forgive me if this is redundant.

I applied to C.P. to the E.E. program as a transfer student with an A.S. in engineering, 3.4 GPA, and all CORE requirements complete. Now I'm in the middle east and can't check my snail mail...just email and the U.M.D. website.

They put me in L&S according to the enrollment page. However the way I understand it from the website is that as a transfer student you get excepted into the college first, then to the L.E.P. based on the requirements. So my questions are...

Will I be notified by email if I did or didn't get into the L.E.P.?

Do I have to confirm enrollment before being considered for the L.E.P.?

Approximately how long does it take for final decisions to be made (providing they haven't been already)?

I already emailed the umd office but apparently they are very busy. It's imperative I get an answer within a reasonable time frame because my 30 day deadline will soon be approaching. If I didn't get in there is no reason to attend L&S as all of my CORE and GPA requirements are complete.. So I'll have to spend more money at the private school down the road >:

Send more emails to different people to ask your question. Office of Admissions, Transfer office (if there is one), Clark School of Engineering… If you don’t get a response within a day or two, it’s probably worth the extra $$ to call the office of Admissions (wherever your transfer decision came from).

Ok…so anyone who stumbles on this thread in a similar situation… here is what I did.

I emailed jmbowen@umd.edu. He’s the Coordinator for Limited Enrollment Programs. He got back to me in less then 24 hours with my good news. The website still reflects the L&S though so It doesn’t appear as though they update that concurrently with your record.

Thanks for the tips astrophysicsmom.

I don’t know if this post will get any attention since the original thread was over a year ago but I will try. I am in the same boat for spring 2013 admission. My decision is available online and my major is listed as letters and sciences but from my understanding there will be a different notice about acceptance into the business school.
